Rebekah Edwards (Altoona Police Department).

A Pennsylvania woman slashed her boyfriend’s throat and cut his hands after he refused to give her Klonopin pills, according to police.

Altoona police responded to an apartment complex in the 2200 block of Broad Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday for a domestic-related stabbing. When cops arrived, they found a man suffering from a gash across his throat and cuts to his hands. Police said the victim awoke to his girlfriend, later identified as 43-year-old Rebekah Edwards, standing over his bed with a kitchen knife at his throat.

She allegedly demanded Klonopin, an anti-anxiety medicine, the victim had given to her in the past.

“I’m going to kill you,” she said, according to a criminal complaint obtained by Altoona CBS affiliate WTAJ. “You don’t think I’ll do it?”

Edwards then sliced his throat, police said. The victim was able to disarm Edwards, his girlfriend of eight years, but she grabbed a second knife. He suffered wounds to his hands as Edwards allegedly began slashing the knife at him. The victim subdued Edwards until police arrived. He survived the incident. Officers reportedly found the knife on the front steps. They also discovered drops of blood in the kitchen and hallway walls.
