A Florida woman is in custody after being arrested for allegedly chasing her roommate with a hammer, but police are also investigating the death of her teenage daughter.
Kelsey Glover was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery after her roommate, Shantee Bryant, called 911 and said she was being chased by Glover, who was wielding a hammer. According to the arrest warrant, Glover “became violent” while Bryant was giving Glover’s 14-year-old daughter Giselle Glover “a bath.” When Bryant called 911, Glover “chased her into the bathroom with the hammer” and told her “she wanted to kill her.”
When police arrived at Glover’s home near Kissimmee, they not only witnessed visible wounds on Bryant, they found Giselle unresponsive in the bathtub.
Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez said at a press conference that “[w]itnesses also told deputies that they saw Ms. Glover holding her 14-year-old daughter’s head underwater in the bathtub. They tried to stop her but were not successful. Eventually, Ms. Glover began attacking and chasing these witnesses around the house with a hammer, which led them to call also 911.”
Giselle Glover was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. Lopez said that police were awaiting a report from the medical examiner to determine the exact cause of death, but the department was “launching a full homicide investigation that will be concluded soon.” He called the ordeal “a dark day,” adding that “what happened to her is unimaginable.”
Kelsey Glover was being held without bail at the Osceola County Jail. While she has not yet been charged with any crimes related to the death of her daughter, Marcos said that “additional charges were pending,” according to WOFL, a local Fox affiliate.
