Trump vs Harris live: Harris leads Trump in latest polls but they are neck and neck in three crucial swing states

Federal law enforcement agencies have seized 32 Russian-backed websites that prosecutors say were designed to sow disinformation and discord ahead of 2024 elections and boost Donald Trump’s campaign.

Separately, two employees of Russia’s state-controlled media network RT have been criminally charged with allegedly launching a $10 million propaganda scheme that enlisted popular right-wing social media influencers.

The allegations revealed in warrants and unsealed indictments are evidence of Russia’s attempts to “engage in a covert campaign to interfere and influence the outcome of our country’s elections,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said in remarks on Wednesday.

With Kamala Harris and Tim Walz out on the campaign trail, you might be wondering what Donald Trump is doing.

At 5.30pm he will pre-tape a one-hour town hall in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, with Sean Hannity of Fox News which will be broadcast at 9pm this evening. Nothing captures the spontaneity of being asked questions by a pre-vetted audience than taping it almost four hours in advance.

To kill time until then, the former president has been busily posting videos to his Truth Social account. By 3pm he was up to nine videos and a TikTok.

First up, he complained about the workings of the justice system, claiming the Justice Department had violated its own policy by “going after” him in the 60 days leading up to the first votes being cast on September 6. The DOJ began prosecuting Trump in 2023.

He then lashed out at “Comrade Harris” over the border, before accusing the vice president of running away from her record, including this odd line: “Why did you change all 14 of your major policy ideas just for the purpose of an election. And we know one thing, she’ll never do it, because she’s a… Marxist, and Marxists don’t believe in the Trump philosophy. Not gonna happen. We’re not gonna let her win.”

In the next video, he called her a Communist. If you’re wondering what the difference is, it’s that Marxism is a philosophy, while communism is a system of government based on Marxist principles.

Trump, who complains about everything from dishwashers to airports to crowd sizes, began his next video with a tiny little bit of projection, saying: “COMRADE KAMALA HARRIS DOES NOTHING BUT COMPLAIN…”

Hitting his stride (these were all recorded back to back as evidenced by the knot of his tie), Trump did a quick lap of election issues, ranging from the economy, inflation, the border, “respect for our nation”, and preventing the Third World War and a 1929 recession.

In the two final shortest videos, he espoused “TRUMP CASH vs KAMALA CRASH!” and reminded viewers of his tax proposals for social security and tips.

“It’s Joe. We’re in this race together. With so much at stake this November, can you rush a donation to the campaign now?”

“From Trump: VICTORY IS OUR ULTIMATE REVENGE! Be the FIRST PERSON to read my Super Tuesday victory memo.”

“We missed our August goal! We’re upgrading you to a 10x MATCH. CHIP IN NOW.”
