A North Carolina mother is behind bars after she allegedly did not feed her 4-year-old daughter any solid foods for six months, which caused the girl to be “severely malnourished.”
Sarah Weber, 28, is charged with child neglect with serious bodily injury, court records say. According to a warrant, cops went to Weber’s home in Charlotte on Saturday where they found the girl. Weber told authorities the child had been suffering from diarrhea for about a month. The girl had not eaten solid foods for half a year.

Weber also failed to take the child to the doctor in that time, police allege.
“This led to the minor child to be severely malnourished [which] was confirmed by a doctor,” the warrant said. “Due to the severity of the malnutrition, the minor child was admitted to the hospital for further evaluation.”
Cops took Weber to the Mecklenburg County Jail, where she’s being held on a $25,000 bond.
Charlotte ABC affiliate WSOC spoke to the owner of the home where Weber lives who told them she was the mother of the malnourished 4-year-old.

Neighbor Jacqueline Wade told the outlet she saw three police cruisers outside the home followed by an ambulance.
“It’s definitely very saddening, right?,” she said. “So you could be in close proximity to someone and not know the extent of suffering.”
Weber’s next court date is scheduled for Monday. She had no attorney listed in court documents. The warrant did not say what ended up happening with the child.
