An Ohio mother was arrested and charged with domestic violence after a video of her allegedly abusing her baby went viral.
Cloe Workman, 20, was arrested on Thursday and charged with two felonies, one for endangering a child and one for domestic violence. According to court records obtained by WKRC, a local CBS affiliate, Workman made a video in which she can allegedly be seen spitting on her baby’s face and pushing the baby down by the head. She is also allegedly depicted squirting “dish detergent” in the baby’s mouth. WKRC reported that the video was sent to the baby’s father and later went viral.
The alleged incident took place on Monday, and a complaint was filed the following day after several people saw the video and called for Workman’s arrest, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The video prompted an investigation by the Loveland Police Department and Child Protective Services. Workman was initially charged with endangering a child, and the charge of domestic violence was added on Wednesday for the same incident.

The little girl, who is just over a year old, was reported to be safe and in the custody of Workman’s grandparents. The father’s brother — the baby’s uncle — started a GoFundMe page to raise money for the girl’s father to hire an attorney and gain custody of his daughter.
Workman was booked into the Hamilton County Jail and was released on her own recognizance. She appeared in court on Friday. A judge ordered her to wear a 24-hour monitoring device and to remain under house arrest until her next trial date on Jan. 6.
