A Florida mom who is being investigated by police in the drowning death of her teenage daughter allegedly took away the child’s insulin shortly before her death.
Kelsey Glover, 35, is in custody at the Osceola County Jail after being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery for allegedly attacking her roommate with a hammer. New court filings published after her arrest detailed more about the scene of the alleged crime, including the events leading up to the death of 14-year-old Giselle Glover.
Kelsey Glover has not been charged in the death of her daughter but the target of the assault and battery case for which she is charged provided police more details after Giselle Glover was found unresponsive in the bathtub at the scene.
Kelsey’s roommate, the woman she allegedly threatened to kill with a hammer — told police that she “was attempting to assist with the [Glover’s] daughter” when she (Glover) “became violent.” In a sworn statement, the roommate said that Glover stopped giving Giselle Glover her insulin medication, which caused the teenager to become “ill,” and that she “was vomiting, not eating, and feeling weak.” The roommate told Glover that the 14-year-old needed medical attention, but the mother “refused” to pursue any treatment. She also said that Giselle Glover was having trouble keeping water down.

At some point during their argument, the roommate said that Glover put her daughter in the bathtub “and grabbed her by the hair and held her head under water.” When the roommate got Giselle out of the tub and began lifesaving efforts, Glover tried to stop her and “pushed [the roommate] out of the bathroom.” The roommate called 911, which allegedly prompted Glover to threaten her with a hammer. When police arrived, they noted “several holes in the door that were consistent with the hammer striking the door.”
Giselle Glover was pronounced dead at the hospital. The filing stated that police were awaiting the results of her autopsy, “but reasonably expect to add the charge of first-degree murder.”
Kelsey Glover was deemed to pose a risk of harm to the community and was ordered to be held without bail.
