Two Florida adults are facing neglect charges after a young child was spotted running naked across multiple lanes of traffic — and later found covered in his own waste.
Jacob Roberson, 32, and Danielle Roberson, 34, have been charged with five counts of child neglect, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.
Authorities were alerted to a “young child running nude in the area of Green Acres Road and Green Acres Boulevard around 9 a.m.” on Sunday morning, the announcement said.

“Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Deputies spotted the boy running across four lanes of traffic and nearly getting hit by vehicles, but were able to get him to safety,” the statement continued. “The child was found to be covered in his own feces. They cleaned him and wrapped him in a towel.”
Deputies actually recognized the boy and took him to a home near Fort Walton Beach, some five miles away from where the child was found. Once at the home, deputies “spotted another nude child running around nearby,” the statement said.
That child also “had feces on his body,” deputies noted.
An investigation revealed “deplorable conditions” throughout the home, as well as “prescription medications within reach of a total of five children, all under the age of 12,” the sheriff’s office said.
Online records show that Jacob Roberson posted $5,000 bond and was released on Tuesday. Danielle Roberson remains in custody on $15,000 bond, according to the Okaloosa Department of Corrections.
