A Florida man forced his way into the apartment of an ex-girlfriend he had a brief relationship with and beat her, accusing her of cheating on him, authorities said.
Christopher Luis Gonzalez, 29, faces charges of burglary, assault, battery, domestic violence and kidnapping in the beating of his ex-girlfriend, online court records show.
An arrest report obtained by Law&Crime outlines the July 31 attack.
The victim and the defendant were in a relationship for two weeks. The victim told police she had arrived home from work when Gonzalez forced his way into her apartment as she was closing the door, the document said.
The victim ran into her bathroom and locked herself inside. Gonzalez kicked down the bathroom door and began punching her several times across her body and face, causing her to fall into the shower, the arrest report said.
While she was in the shower, the defendant allegedly told the victim, “Where is the knife? Give me the knife. Your life will end tonight; you’re not gonna see your kids anymore; where have you been? Who are you f—ing?”
Then he stopped hitting her, walked over to the living room, and sat down, according to the report.
He began crying and said, “Why did I hit you? This is domestic violence. I’m going to jail for a long time,” the arrest report said.
Gonzalez then allegedly told the victim to get into his vehicle. She followed his commands to avoid further violence, the report said.
He drove to a market where she asked him to get ice for her face. When he entered the store, the victim fled and called an Uber to her sister’s house. She was hospitalized with cuts that required stitches, according to the report.
Gonzalez was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with no bond, online jail records show. A pretrial detention is set for Friday.
